I just wonder if anyone knows who is responsible for which fence in their garden? I'm a council tenant and the fence ,which is to the right if my home is behind me, has blown down. Am I responsible for replacing it or is my neighbour? Thanks

There is no general rule about whether you own the fence on the left or the fence on the right of your property. The conveyance deed (or the transfer deed) might indicate and identify the boundaries for which the owner of the property is responsible. You should note that they are not legally obliged to erect a fence on their boundary at all and you cannot force them to repair it. It is the best way to contact your neighbor and try to reach a friendly solution.
