I just bought a software subscription from a Polish company on behalf of my business. The business is a UK-registered one. The Polish supplied added a VAT tax of 20% on top of the invoice. I wonder if they had to add this amount as my business is not based in Poland and regularly any export is not subject to domestic VAT.
