Roommate refusing rent
Hello I was wondering if I can sue my roommate for Refusing to pay rent. We signed a lease that says we both pay from January to June, but she left in April and refuses to pay anything for may or June. I have tried to reason with her and even compromise but she still refuses. Is there anything I can do?

This is a clear case of breach of contract. You can write a letter of demand to the absconded roommate. You should make reference to the written agreement to pay the rent jointly (if any) and tenancy agreement and any other document(s) that can support your claim for the debt of the defaulting roommate. This step is necessary before contemplating litigation in the event that the defaulting roommate neglect, fail or refuse to accede to your demand in writing.
