Open balance
I am Miguel, 26 years old. I am Portuguese and living in the Netherlands for the past 4 years. Right now, I am still living in the Netherlands to attend my master’s degree. A few months ago I was told by my Hong Kong contractor that ld services as a Graphic Designer would no longer be needed. I worked for this company since February 2022 until the end of September 2022. However, an open balance is still due from the company to me because they did not pay for several months until now. This has become a bigger issue to cope with on a financial and emotional level since I am currently unemployed and struggling with the possibility of not being able to afford the high costs of living in the Netherlands and sustaining my student expenses. Is there something I can do about this? What are my rights? How can I approach this? And finally and very important for me at this moment, how much would this cost me? Ps: attached you will find an open balance document provided by the employer + the contracts. Regards, Miguel
