Misleading information
I got a letter to settle my unpaid loans for XX. I am willing to pay XX as it stated on the letter that this will fully clear me from the unpaid loan. When I contacted the bank to make the payment, they said that it was a mistake or an error from their part. Now, they are telling me that XX will only clear around half of the full settlement offer and that I still have to pay YY to fully clear me.

Who is XX here? is this an agent/collector of the bank? and YY is the bank? if yes, then the bank should credit your entire settlement to XX, bank already admitted their negligence hence it falls under solutio indebiti under Article 2154. of the New Civil Code which states: If something is received when there is no right to demand it, and it was unduly delivered through mistake, the obligation to return it arises.
