The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is a federal government agency responsible for collecting taxes and enforcing tax laws. The IRS does not report to immigration authorities. However, the IRS may share information with other federal agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), if there is a reason to believe someone has committed tax fraud or owes back taxes.
