The minimum insurance requirement for motorists depends on the state wherein you reside and are registered to drive. You have not indicated the state jurisdiction in your legal question. In my state (Illinois) the requirements are as follows:
$25,000 bodily injury liability per person
$50,000 bodily injury liability per accident
$20,000 property damage liability per accident
$25,000 uninsured motorist coverage per person
$50,000 uninsured motorist coverage per accident
