import investment gold bars to Turkey
Hello! I was wondering if you have any information available about whether it is allowed by the Customs laws of Turkey for citizens to import investment gold bars (HS code: 710812) from EU via a courier service? (e.g. FedEx) Would you know if there are any restrictions or prohibitions. Possible weight or value limitations, or taxes and fees to be paid. Thank you, Jay Luberr

Dear Jay, your inquiry regarding "whether it is allowed by the Customs laws of Turkey for citizens to import investment gold bars (HS code: 710812) from EU via a courier service? (e.g. FedEx) Would you know if there are any restrictions or prohibitions" has forwarded to my attention by the system. Although this is not my area of expertise, I can comment on some issues. The answer for the first part of the question is "yes". There is a maximum limit of 5 kg for bringing gold from outside. However, there is an obligation to make a notification before bringing it from abroad. Although I am not sure about the exact rate as the fees and taxes to be paid are constantly changing, I can say that these rates are lower than European countries. If you need furher assistance,I can offer you a comprehensive legal opinion tailored to your specific needs, I estimate that a minimum of 4 hours of work would be required.
