Depending on the country you are coming from and your circumstances, Immigration interviews can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours.
For example, Visitors from most Western countries who have all the required documentation typically only have to answer a few questions from an immigration officer at the port of entry. However, if you come from a country that is not on Canada's visa-exempt list, or if you do not have all the required documentation, you may have to go through a more lengthy interview process.
The same goes for people applying for other types of visas, such as work or student visas.
