Depends on what you mean by legit. If you mean whether or not the company exists, that info is available even online. On the other hand, if you mean either or not the company is capable of paying you, this requires an investigation. In addition, most of the freelancing websites offer escrow services for you to guarantee the payment.

It can be checked through the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette and the records of the Chamber of Commerce where the company is situated.
