H1B consular processing after company is liquidated
I was recently granted an H1B visa. Since I applied for consular processing, I didn't change my status from F-1 to H1B immediately. Now my company is terminating the contracts of their employees in the following two months because it ran out of funds. Can I still change my status to the H1B conceded to me originally for this company employment, or should I start all the process over again? In the latter, is there any extension contemplated for cases like this? I am in my last months of STEM-OPT Extension and that would mean to me having to abandon my life in the US.
