Fair use for scholarship, copyrighted code
Consider the Numerical Recipes code distribution. They are under copyright protection and their work is not allowed for general public use. Would an academic be allowed to use some of their routines in a publicly available code? 1) The work is academic and noncommercial 2) The copyrighted work is of a technical manner
