I am a foreigner, and I want to invest in Turkey.
If I opened a company in Turkey, can I get a work permit for foreigners from my country (Iran) or I will be obliged to employ Turkish citizens only?
It is obligatory that at least five Turkish citizens be employed at the workplace for which
the work permit is requested. If the foreigner who requests a work permit is a
shareholder of the company, the requirement for the employment of five Turkish
citizens is sought for the final six months of the one-year work permit to be granted by
the Ministry. In the event a work permit is requested for more than one foreigner at the
same workplace, it is required that five Turkish citizens be employed for each additional
foreigner after the work permit for the first foreigner at the company is granted.
