I signed a contract with a software development company, based in Sweden with a german office. While doing the background check regarding me, they realized that I have a small personal debt. I have read that such background checks are illegal in Germany.
Is it legal to conduct background checks into financial/credit history?
Is this a valid ground for dismissal?
