I am a Japanese national residing living in Japan , Someone from the Philippines a Filipino citizen was planning to sue me a cyber libel. Can that person can sue me? She said she will file a case againts me. Is it possible? Is there a jurisdiction between Japan and Philippines?

May nagpapatanong sa akin, dahil marami syang ( she) sinasabi na ide demanda daw din ang iba na mostly nakatira sa ibang bansa. Like U.S. , Canada , Japan at Hongkong. Beside Japan na walang Jurisdiction ang Philippines, How about sa ibang like U.S. Canada, at Hongkong, pwede ba sila idemanda ng Libel? Kami kasi ay naging biktima ng gustong magdemanda ng Libel. Nakuhanan kami ng mga pera kaya natawag namin syang scammer.

Good Evening Atty. De Guzman. Thank you po🙏 my comments to her where she meant a libel is just a replies because she attacked me first. I first heard thru SMNI Youtube channel thru Atty.Tolentino during their live stream that Philippines has no jurisdiction to Japan unless it is Criminal Crime But mine is maybe civil case .if she will file againts me. Your answer to my question is the same to Atty. Tolentino. I am a naturalized Japanese citizen. Living in Japan for 42 yrs.

Good evening Atty.Jacaban, in Japan thru social media Youtube Live Stream but I did some comments regarding to that person because she did first attacking me. My comments to her is about her being a scammer. I am just replying because she attacked me first not me.

We need to determine the place where you committed the crime. If it was done in Japan, our Penal Law in the Philippines cannot apply due to jurisdictional requirements. Our prenal law applies only to those who live ir sojourn in the Philippine and not to those living outside the country.
