Can someone create an LLC and include my name as a member without my knowledge??
Can someone legally register another person without their knowledge as a 'managing member of an LLC'. I ask this only because I just found out today that someone registered me today without my knowledge or permission. I know nothing about business or legal situations on this level.

The first question to be asked is whether the name of the individual making the complaint is sufficiently distinctive to warrant legal recourse. With a name like John Smith, such is more difficult to argue than with a name like Thomas Fitzgeraldson for example. If the name of the individual belongs to the latter category she or he would have valid legal recourse to sue on basis of the torts of appropriation of personality and invasion of privacy. She or he would then have to demonstrate to the Court the amount of damages suffered in order to obtain judgment in her or his favor. In order to mitigate these damages, she or he should send the LLC a cease and desist letter demanding that the illegal use of her or his name stop at once.
