Inheriting in Argentina through the Buenos Aires Court System as a Foreign Heir from the USA.
When American or US citizens become heirs to an Argentinian inheritance there’s a few things to take into consideration:
1. If any of the testators’ heirs are American or US nationals, all must present to the Argentine court the following documents in order to inherit:
A. Copy of an unexpired and valid passport;
B. Birth certificate mentioning the testator as an ascendant or sufficient title to become a creditor;
C. AFIP tax forms to obtain a tax ID number;
D. Certificate of subsistence and residence.
