Are the Irish Short-stay Visa Waiver Programme and British-Irish Visa Scheme directly linked?
There seem to be two schemes by which holders of the UK short-stay visa may enter Ireland, the SSWVP and the BIVS. To my understanding, BIVS visa basically is combined with both the UK plus Ireland visa, while a UK short-stay visa under SSVWP is just "accepted for short-stay entry", however, I cannot find any definitive source stating how exactly the two schemes are interrelated. Hence my question is: Are these two schemes directly linked?
