Hi there. I was in United States for a while and changed my status to student. I started studying at the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory and they promised me a filmmaking program that would give me a certificate. They even state on their website that they offer a full filmmaking program. However, after a few weeks I found out that they don't have a filmmaking program, they only have an acting program. I left US and returned to my country. They promised me a refund, but now they're denying it. I paid for the full year, but attended less than a month. How can I file a law suit against them from overseas? Best regards, Diego

For personal loans, this time limit can vary significantly between different jurisdictions. In many places, the statute of limitations for written or oral agreements ranges from 3 to 15 years,
I lent some money to a friend in the USA in the later part of 2001. I lived in the UK then. We had an agreement that he would pay it back by end of March 2002. He failed to and went into hiding. Since then I moved to settle in Ghana. I recently met him at a funeral in Ghana in January 2024, and demanded my money. He promised to pay it back, and sent me less than half of it beginning of April 2024. When I contacted him with regards to the rest of the money, he told me not to contact him again. I want to know if I can sue him for my money and damages.

Hello, I took out a subscription for $297 a month for an online course on the 30th of March 2023. The company is located in California, USA. They stated in their Payment Plan Policy, that selecting the payment plan implies an agreement to complete all payments on time and in full until the total balance of $3,564 is fulfilled. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep up with payments. The company sent me payment reminders by email in May, June, and July in 2023. Last week, 9 months after I last heard from them, I received an email from them warning me that they are going to take legal action against me. The email states: If you are receiving this email, it means you currently have an outstanding balance with us at the Brandon Lucero Brand. After attempting to contact you for 3+ months, we have not heard anything back. Because of this lack of response, we are now being forced to take legal action and report you to the credit and collections agency. If you would like to resolve this before we submit your claim, you have until April 30th to respond to this email. If we don’t hear from you by April 30th, we will move forward with the next steps. - Team Lucero Could you please advise me whether the company who are based in California, USA can take me to court in England? Thank you. Kind regards Jo Thomson
Our client would like to make a complaint about a lawyer who took a substantial retainer fee over one year ago to carry out probate work on her mother’s family properties in Barbados.
We guided her to the Barbados Bar Association, though she can book a one-hour consultation meeting with one of our lawyers on how to proceed.

Hello
I'm a British citizen living in England and would like information about who I contact to make a complaint about a power of attorney in Barbados who took a substantial retainer fee over one year ago to carry out probate work on my mother’s family properties in Barbados, but have since ignored me and have not done as they promised.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
