SpainGustavo Calles is a qualified Lawyer with more than 20 years of legal experience in different jurisdictions and countries (Spain, Netherlands, Malta and UAE) with two Masters Degree: (i) Master in International Trade and Negotiation and (ii) Master Degree in Compliance Officer & Legal Expert in White Collar Crime as well. He communicates in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Galician and Italian. Furthermore, he has been admitted and registered as a "Lawyer" by the Spanish Bar Association since 2001 (Law Society of Lugo) and, in addition, he was registered as a Legal Consultant by the Legal Affairs Department of the Government of Dubai (UAE) in 2013. .- In Spain, his legal work was based on providing legal advice in civil and criminal Law –some of which on a pro bono basis- and acting before the First Instance and Appeal Courts, the High Regional Court, the Supreme Court, as well as the Constitutional Court in Madrid. Besides he uses to contribute as Professor in the Law Society of Lugo (Spanish BAR) for fresh graduates. .- In Dubai (UAE), he was mainly managing civil matters: claims resolution, contracts/negotiation (ADR tools), commercial, compliance & GDPR, IT, trade, construction, corporate, licensing/IP, international arbitration, mediation, due diligence, consumer law, real estate and property law.... and acting before different Institutions and Jurisdictions like for example: Expert meetings appointed by the Dubai Courts, international arbitration hearings at DIAC (Dubai International Arbitration Center) and DIFC (Dubai International Financial Center). As well as, he has supervised the Junior Legal Team in the Firm. .- In Amsterdam (NL), he has worked for an investment company drafting, negotiating corporate and commercial agreements and introducing compliance and GDPR Policies. .- In Malta, I have managed/dealt with IT, IP, KYC/compliance, OEM, NDA, DPA, SLA, software, commercial and license agreements (B2B and B2C), among others, for a Holding Group with businesses in the internet and iGambling sectors.
