ItalyDr Magali Contardi is an Italian-qualified lawyer (“avvocato”), with a cross-career that spans both legal practice and research in IP. She focuses on the judicial and extrajudicial protection of IPR rights and helps companies identify, protect, and exploit their IP assets in a broad range. She is IP expert for the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) for EIC- beneficiaries. Before founding her own firm, she worked as an IP attorney in top-tier international law firms in Germany and Italy, served at the International Affairs & Legal Department of the European Patent Office and worked as a legal assistant at the Boards of Appeals of the European Union Intellectual Property Office. She is affiliated with the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (Italy) and the University of Alicante (Spain) (2021-2023), where she has contributed to several EU-funded projects and studies in the areas of copyright and data. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Pharma Committee of the International Association for Intellectual Property and since 2023 she is co-president of the Italian Young Committee. Magali Contardi holds law degrees from the Università degli Studi di Firenze and the Catholic University of Argentina, as well as a Master in Business Law and Public Manager (Università degli Studi di Pisa), a LLM in Intellectual Property Law (University of Alicante) and a Specialization in Artificial Intelligence & Intellectual Property (University of Strasbourg). She obtained Summa cum laude with mention of international doctorate her PhD in law (AI, patents and medical devices) at the University of Alicante.
