Moving to a different area of law

Dear All I've recently qualified as an Immigration and Human Rights Solicitor as my TC seats were on no-choice basis. Ideally I would like to work in more commercial area of law, related to pharmacology or life sciences as I have background in Medicine and Natural Sciences. Does anyone have an advice on what is the best way to move to an unrelated area of law with no first hand experience. I appreciate your responses. Thank you

Can I sue a company in US even if I'm in Brazil?

1 I had a consulting company (IT services) in Canada and my major client (also a Canadian corp) did not pay for large amount of software engineering services that I've done for them. They are actively selling their products to major European and US corporations (like Verizon, AT&T, Microsoft) and all these products are heavily based on and incorporate works done by me that they didn't pay for. This my client Canadian corp most likely has US presence and I'm currently tax resident in the US. Can I sue this Canadian corp in the US (or their US subsidiary if it exists)? Can I sue their clients for using my works (or notify them to stop using them), what are possible consequences? Any pointers where I can get legal consultation in the San Francisco bay area regarding this matter?

Can I sue a company in another country in small claims court?

I live in Vancouver State. I bought a skype type language course on line. The salesman who sold me the course said I could pay monthly and stop anytime I liked, even thought the course had a one year duration. After 3 months I tried to stop and they billed my credit card for the full fee, an additional $666. My credit card company has been no help. The credit card company say the agreement with the course vendor says I must pay for the full year. The verbal statement of the salesman is not controlling. I am quite unhappy with the credit card company, but my question is: can I sue the vendor of the language course in small claims court in Vancouvre?

Iran sanctions

In the news I keep hearing about "sanctions" on Iran. For example, one article published today, said that "sanctions were lifted", but that "some sanctions still remain". Such news stories are invariably vague about exactly what these "sanctions" are. US law? EU law? UN resolution? What? How can I find out exactly what these "sanctions" are and their terms?
